    Hi everyone,

Wonder if you guys could give me some advice with a digi camera purchase.

I basically have a budget of £150, possibly a little more and am trying to get something that takes great quality pictures, with a reasonable optical zoom.

Ideally it also needs to be very compact.

In order of pref it would be compact, sharpness, zoom.

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

I have seen good reviews of the Ricoh R1. Saw it on QVC yesterday!! under 200 quid and with 4.8x optical zoom 4mp. Seems a good deal. Doesn't look like it has manual features if that's important to you

I think I'm going have to get something more compact as I need to be able to carry it in my pocket.

    Thanks for the response

canon sd200 or sd300 (in EU I think it's called Ixus 300 and 400, has 3x zoom and a new DIGICII processor, no fully manual settings, but a lot can be adjusted
