Help with connection setup to get best picture from SKY+

Standard Member
Wondered if anyone could give me advice as to whether I've got my connections correct to give me the best picture quality (especially from SKY as it looks a little washed out)

I have just purchased a Panny 37PX70 Plasma and also have the following equipment :

Panny DMR-EX75 DVD Recorder
JVC TH-SW8 Surround Sound

I've got it all connected as follows :

DMR-EX75 to 37PX70 via HDMI
SKY+ to DMR-EX75 via SCART to 37PX70 (AV1) via SCART (RGB Passthrough)
TH-SW8 to 37PX70 via SCART (AV2)

I'm looking at getting a Digital Optical connection between SKY+ and the TH-SW8 for 5.1 sound (as the TH-SW8 doesn't have HDMI)

Is there a better way of connecting these components?
Do I need to look at purchasing better quality SCART cables between SKY+, DMR-EX75 and the 37PX70 or are there any output settings on the equipment which may need changing as they aren't set correctly?

Any advice would be much appreciated :lease:
