Ok so my main reason for wanting to get a HDTV is for gaming with the Xbox 360 and eventually PS3. Plasma is out of the question due to insane prices, so I'm going with LCD. My size to price ratio means I can get around 26"/27" set.

I'm looking to play games in 720p, so with resolution I'm looking for as little upscaling as possible, and response time is ultra important for gaming to prevent ghosting.

I've narrowed it down to these choices.

    Samsung 27" LCD-TV LE27T51B (16:9, 1366 x 768, 800:1, 12ms [I think])
    LG 26" LCD-TV RZ-26LZ55 (15:9, 1280 x 768, 600:1, 8ms)
    Acer 26" AL2671W LCD-TV (16:9, 1280 x 768, 600:1, 16ms)

And f I really want to push my budget I could maybe go for this...but unlikely
    LG 26" LCD-TV 26LX2R (16:9[I think], 1366x768, 1200:1, 8ms)

So what do you think anyway?

I was liking the LG 26" RZ-26LZ55, but the aspect ratio is annoying me..I mean 15:9?? wtf is that? And how will it affect my picture?

Acer AL2671W was looking good, but a response time 16ms is really putting me off.

The Samsung 27" LE27T51B has better contrast, the resolution is not exactly what I'm looking for but a little bit of upscaling is bareable, but 12ms...hmm what kind of ghosting would that do?

And thus you have my dilema, anyone care to lend some insight?

Is there any reason why you aren't considering the Samsung LE26R41BD from Freemans? Coming in at ~£460 with the 20% discount and Quidco earnings, it's very hard to beat for the price!

For 360 use the picture is excellent - after all, the 23" was chosen by Microsoft for use in the demo pods.

Well I live in Ireland so there are a few places to get them here, but for some reason Dixons/Currys website in Ireland isn't up...I could go down to the store...but it would be a bit of a wasted journey

So I was going to order online at Komplett.ie, but there selecton is not fantastic, I'll check to see if they have that model, thanks.

I'm in the same position of wanting a 26" LCD for 360/PS3 and second room use (Freeview) - and have been considering these:

Samsung LE26R41BD from Freemans £480 (using 20% doscount)
JVC LT26DS6 from Empire Direct £680 (using £50 discount)
    WarrantyEx 3 year warranty £105/5 year £195

My question is whether the JVC is worth the extra £200? People on this forum have been saying that the sammy is not very reliable and so I might have to go for a 3 year warranty if I chose that one, making only £100 difference. I gist I have got is that the sammy is v. good in XBox360 but poor on SD broadcasts, would the JVC be significantly better on these?
