    Hello All

I have ordered a PC with an Nvidia 7800 GT graphics card. My plan is to connect it to my Pioneer 505XDE via it's VGA input. It will be used to play HD content.

I need some help regarding the best cable to use and where to get it from (length required will be 10m).

Should I get a DVI-D to DVI-D cable and use a VGA adapter at the plasma end?

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks

No, don't think there is much point in that - has the graphics card not get a VGA out port? If so good quality VGA to VGA cable should be better, no conversion, everything stays analogue.

If there isn't a VGA output, what you will need is a DVI-I to DVI-I cable with a DVI-I to VGA converter.

DVI-D only sends Digital signals and doesn't have as many pins as the DVI-I. DVI-I can send either digital or analogue signals.

Another way around it is getting a DVI-I to VGA converter and then a VGA cable.

    Take a look at www.lindy.co.uk

    Richie.

Thanks for your help guys, I'm going for the "silver serpent" VGA cable (8m) and will use the DVI to VGA convertor that will come with the card.

    All the best
