    Hi,

I have a new aluminium macbook and want to connect it to my Denon AVR-3808 home cinema amp.

Can someone please tell me the easiest way to do this and whether the quality is affected at all?

I read something about getting a 3.5mm <> TOSlink cable and connecting one end to the headphone jack on my macbook and the latter to the optical input on my amp. Would this work? Or are there better/other options?

If so where can i get one from? Preferably a apple or similar branded one...

    Thanks :)

Yep! Mini-toslink to toslink is the way to go mate.
You'll get the best audio output possible that way from your Macbook, it's digital after all.
