Not a lot to go on I'm afraid :zonked:
American series with a female private investigator ,who hires a former army bloke (pun intended  ) to be the muscle. shown on the bbc in the early 80's , probably before Matt Houston was shown (I can remember that)
The thing I remember most , is that Bonnie Tylers "I need a hero / calling out for a hero / whatever " was the theme tune iirc.
this has been bugging me for a while now , anybody have any ideas

I remember the series quit well. The premis was using photo shoot around the world as cover for spying. The original strong arm guy was Mac Harper played by Jon-Erik Hexum ( built like a brick out house) did not last long as he was shoot/killed in a self inflicted accident. And was replaced by Antony Hamilton who played Jack Striker.
The series was pretty forgettable apart from the theme tune, the models and Jennifer O'Neill of Scanner fame.
