I really need the Panamorph PSO-HT1000 lense for my HT1000
Does anyone know how to get hold of one of these anamorphic lenses. I'm in the UK.
Due to the shape of the room have to use a 16:9 screen. Have a gray screen. Rest of room magnolia/cream. wife insists.
The light spill from the PJ above and below the screen is just too annoying and I can not hide it.
It will also increase the resolution although the light spill reduction is the main reason.
The Prismasonic lense is just too large a piece of kit to use infront of the PJ. Wife thinks it ruins the whole effect.

    Thanks for any advise
    Bob

You could try NEC UK as it's meant to be a pukka piece of kit for it.

Failing that, you could try Alan and Co over at www.avsforum.com

    Thanks guys.
Alan at AVS has been helpfull.
The Prismasonic is a ugly piece of equipment, sorry Prismasonic, my wife seems to wear the trousers that's her view.
The ISO fits over the HT1000 lens like a filter lens so looks the piece. But, it's expensive.
Wife will never let me change the PJ this side of 2005, so no upgrade to HT1100 etc.

I always run the PJ in 16:9 mode.
HT1000 was the best for me originally but a recent house move has introduced a few problems that really means an anamorphic lens which would be better in the current room.

NEC do not seem to be able to help when I called them. Even though they are 'tinkering' with such a lens in the US

    Thanks
    Bob

I guess black carpet on the screen wall is out of the question then?? :)

I hope you manage to resolve the issue, and if so, let us know how you get on.

    Hello Bobbin,

Could you tell the price of the panamorph lens that is made especially for the nec ht1000?
Thank you very much for your reply.

    Friendly regards

The lens is meant to retail for around $1895 in the US, but they were doing a special deal if bought with the HT1000 - I think it was a choice of $500 rebate or the panamorph lens.

Details over at www.avsforum.com and here:

That's very expensive for the panamorph pso ht-1000.... :-(
Do you also know the street price of the panamorph?
Has anybody here already tested the nec ht1000 with one of the lenses of the prismasonic?
Price of those lenses are more appealing. :D
