Hi I have a RDXS32 & a Plextor PX-708A DVD recorder on my PC. I have just compiled a DVD Slide show using ULEAD DVD & CD Picture Show 3 on my PC and burnt it to a TDK DVD-RW. The DVD-RW failed on the Tosh even though I had originally formatted it on the XS32. So I tried it on another disk and it failed as well. I can burn DVD-Rs on my PC without a problem that read on both the Tosh and and old Bush DVD player - but not the '-RWs. The TDK DVD-RWs burn on the Tosh and playback no problem! Has anyone else suffered similar problems? Has anyone got a solution, ideas a work around or any help? Thanks for reading.
Hi Correct me if I'm wrong but if you format a DVD-RW on a PC it could render the DVD-RW unusable of some DVD recorders. I have found this to be the case with Sony recorders but as I don't have a Toshiba I can't say for definate. A PC formats a DVD-RW using a different format to a DVD recorder i.e. the set top recorder uses VR format. This could be the cause of your problem! Anyone else care to comment?
Hi Thanks for the thought but as I said in the original the dvd-rw was formatted on the Tosh. XS32. I have wondered if the burn speed on the PC could effect the readability on the Tosh. Does anyone have the technical knowledge to say whether this could be a factor? Thanks for reading. John
I've been burning TDK-RW 1-2x on my pc and playing them on my toshiba with no problem. They are burn't using nero..
