I want to upgrade to 65in so was going to put the 55in LG B7 in the bedroom. Current 42in TV stands on a drawer unit, so I wanted to wall mount just above this (roughly the red rectangle). I have found 1 line of stud (see red arrows). There is a cupboard behind with the shelf unit pictured, if this can be of any help. The shelf is roughly in line with the top of the current TV. I’m aware the vesa mounts on the LG are low down so this may not be of use.

Can anyone recommend a suitable wall mount? Will I be able to attach it to the wall with enough strength? What screws would be suitable to go into the wall stud? Would something like grip it be sufficient for the other side of the mount if no stud? Or would I be better to try and utilize the wooden batten the shelf behind is resting on? Or even go through into the cupboard and put my own fixing batten in?

If you can find the wall stud and its wooden any decent sized wood screw will do. Chunky with good thread.
To mount in plasterboard use snap toggles or gripit.
