    Hello all!

I have recently purchased a Manfrotto 222 tripod head (the joystick type thing) from eBay! I am now looking for a tripod to put it on! The problem is I dont want to have to spend much to get a tripod that will allow me to screw the Manfrotto head onto it!

Please advice on the cheapest tripod which has the single threaded screw on the top to allow direct attachment of the Manfrotto 222 head.

    Thanks

you'll want summut pretty sturdy as the 222 perches the camera quite high off the tripod - and if you use it in portrait you risk some real wobbling. Warehouse express had some Manfrotto 055 legs going cheap - I tried a 222 (and the other offset joystick one) on my 055 and it was pretty solid. I was contemplating changing my 141RC for a 222 but found it a tad fiddly making small adjustments.

Manfrotto aren't cheap to be honest. My suggestion would have been the same as above.

Too rich for me and I went for a Velbon Sherpa 750n.

warehouse express seems to be off line at the moment - what was the price on the 055 legs? I have these and am looking to off load them in the very near future.

have you decided what legs to put your 222 on yet, i am looking at getting the 222, and the 055 seems a good choice, just wondering if you went for it?
