Hi, looking to replace standalone dvd player for dedicated htpc. What would be best card for the job? Nvidia Geforce4 or ATI Radeon cards? Do both do the mpeg decoding on the card or is it all done thru software player? Have tried my laptop, which has Geforce 440go card in it, and desktop system with Geforce 3 TI500 on my projector @640x480, and although impressed, I'm seeing lots of pixel blocking, grain, artefacts... Is this what to expect or can it be better with the above mention cards? or would a dedicated hardware decoder card be the best way?

Any help given will be appreciated.

    Ta.
