My 20" toshiba is over ten years old and it has begun acting up. I know I should just replace it with a new lcd but I dont have money for one now and frankly the set was excellent for my needs.
The problem:
After turning on the set and after about 15 minutes of good viewing the picture keeps turning on and off until it wont turn back on. The "clicking" coincides with the picture going on and off. It starts off with clicking at five second intervals and finally withing five minutes after this has begun it shuts down totally. Keep in mind from when this process starts till it ends the clicking and shutting on and off gets progressively faster and faster until it shuts down.
What is the probable cause?
Is it worth having it looked at and repaired at what price?
Should I bury it with my betamax?
