Help to improve my current KEF setup

Hi mates,

I'm currently trying to improve the front and central speakers and I would like to know your advice.

Currently I have in a non-dedicated room with a marantz SR5013, a kef iq5 columns, a central KEF iq6c, a rear kef eggs and a KEF PSW2500 sub. All this in a 22m2 room and I am super high satisfied with the whole for cinema (70%) and very satisfied for music, although I have to add sub with the KEF iq5.

Now I would like to upgrade and improve with the new kef q750 and preferible with q250c instead of huge q650c. I have listened the new Q550 and I like the sound, but seems if I choose q750 to improve bass, it would fits better with q650c for the central.

Do you think that the Q250c improve my current KEF iq6c and fits with q750? Has anyone been able to listen q250c and q650c to compare them? It worries me about the weight of q250c that is less that my current iq6c and over the specs less power.

IQ6c is from 2006, but it has quite different design, 3-way ported cab while the latest Q250c uses newer and better Uni-Q driver with pair of passive drivers (not powered). For me it would be little underwhelming to buy big floorstanders and then compromise with small center channel which is putting +60% of movies soundtrack. But if there is no way to fit Q650 then you are out of luck. Keep in mind that there is "tv floor stands" on Amazon which can help raise tv (height adjustable) to fit Q650 on top of your av-cabinet.

You can actually order both via Amazon and i think they have quite good return policy so you can compare the Q250c/Q650c to your iQ6c at home. That will give you all the answers you need.

Amazon product

Edit. Just noticed you live in Spain. Amazon has at least the larger center channel, with your location see if it shows you Q250c too.

I have a q650c and my god it's big lol. I have it paired with my q350s as that was more of a tonal match happy with the centre very good.

Hi @Gasp3621 thanks for your answer.

Yes I live in Spain and yes Amazon sells q250c and q650c but are not sold directly from amazon, is third party vendor. I have enough space for a Q650C but my mind think that could seems over sized for the room considering that currently I'm not living in a house.

I'm pretty sure that current q250c/q650c have better Uni-Q driver improving middles and tweeter sounds of my iq6c but I don't know if q250c will have enough power to fill the room as my iq6c,

@Adziadam yessss is as beautiful as big!! 😍 Thanks for the picture, enjoy it!

I've also got the Q650C to match the Q350, here's a size comparison of the Q200C it replaced:
Definitely worth matching the 6.5 inch drivers if your fronts have them
