My set up is onkyo avr 808, monitor audio BX6AV PACKAGE, medium size OPEN LIVING ROOM and kitchen with suspended wooden floor cover with carpet.

Agree with Moonfly, PB 12 ultimately.

Open living room tells me you need the biggest.

See how you go with audyssey and consider adding better EQ if you're still not happy.

I notice that in america the svs pb12 sale for 769 dollars, which is around 550 pound, Hifix sell them for 669 pound, the bk monolith + cost 550 and that the thing which drive me mad, is it worth to paid 100 pound more for the pb12 nsd ?

At the moment I have a PB12nsd dsp for testing.

i also own a BK M+ and for movies the M+ seems to go louder .

The PB12nsd is good, but my choice would be the M+ :smashing:

Both subwoofers are tested using a antimode 8033S.

Room is about 30 m2

Interesting.

The original PB12 edged a standard Monolith and has now been improved.
I based my guess on the M+ being only marginally better than the original, hence I sided with the SVS.

All that said, I've never heard a M+, so have to bow to your back to back testing :smashin:

It probably doesn't make much difference, as both are out and out HT subs, but my opinion says the BK was just a little bit more rougher than the SVS when being pushed.
Perhaps the extra bit of amplification helps the BK.

The extra £100 is indeed worth questioning.
If you want a nice finish, the BK perhaps edges it.

Would the pb12 be a massive upgrade from a bxw10 or even a rxw12?
\Thank yo:smashin: guys for taking the time to answer my question.

\Thank yo:smashin: guys for taking the time to answer my question.

My money says a PB12 would murder a bxw10 for volume and depth.
and beat a rxw12.
But they're different animals and the MA's might be better for music.

And I'm guessing again, as I've heard neither of them :)
It's an educated guess though; for volume and depth, being ported and big counts for a lot.

Is my onkyo 808 will be capable to drive properly the pb12nsd?
I live in a flat and do appreciate good bass, but i am also little bit scared for my neighbor, while i didn't have any prob with the bxw10, i believe from you guys this sub is in a different category any thought?

The amp has next to nothing to do with it, we're talking low level.

Setup is what is important.
And a properly setup sub should be no louder than any other speaker, ideally.

As for your neighbours, you are the one controlling the overall volume, so that's down to you alone :)

:thumbsup:Cheers so i think i will order tomorrow, between the sb or pb12 tough choice

The contest is between the M+ and the PB12, imo.

The SB, as good as it is, doesn't compare ultimately.

Which is the question you need to ask yourself.
IE, how often do you need the Ultimate?

If the current sub isn't enough, I'd definitely go bigger, which probably rules the SB out unless you specifically want a small box.

Choices, choices :)

I really doubt you'd be disappointed with whichever you choose, as they're all very good subs for the money :smashin:

Absolutely gutted:mad: they don't have the pb12 in stock, so its 4 week waiting
the guy at hifix told me that they have the sb in stock and its is probably better for my room when i explain that my room is 4meter*4*4ceiling excluding the open kitchen. What to do?

New orders run at about 3-4 weeks (usually about 3 at the moment), unless orders are already in the system.

The PB12NSD uses the same amplifier and bass driver as the SB12, but it's larger, ported box will reach noticably deeper and fill the room better.

Wait for the next stock of the pb's. I don't know why they would recommend the sb in an open plan environment over the pb?
