    Hi All,

My son has thrown a paddy and gouged my 2 week old PX11's screen with a fork (and don't anybody have a dig about it improving picture quality  especially Panny owners :smashin: )

My question is, as I reach for the home insurance phone number, can this protective (plastic) outer screen be replaced or is it a new screen????

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers

Hi m8, sorry to hear that, not sure if you can replace the outer screen cover, but make sure you dont tell the insurance company that your son threw a paddy then took it out on your screen as this may not be seen as a Accident!

Maybe worth ringing LG to see if they do spares etc, or even the place where you bought it from, sometimes they give you accidental damage on the warranty for a certain period.

Good luck either way, maybe a good idea to put the screen higher up the wall so he cant reach it.

    Taz

Forkin ell, it'll take 15 years to recover that from his pocket money!

Maybe you could sell him on ebay, his fork skills might be useful for preparing microwave meals?

It should be covered by your insurance policy so long as you have AD cover.

It was just the one off, misses gave him his food out of his high chair (he is only 21 months old)

It's taken me 2 years of no pressies for Xmas, birthday or anniversary - and what makes it worse is my wife is basically saying it is my fault for getting one in the first place and I am not allowed to be a bit ****** off - but complains when her friends son puts marks on the walls.

    :rotfl:

On a more serious note, how deep is the damage - is it just a scratch or is it a thick 'groove'? How old is he?

I would except I don't think I would get that many offers, and the postage costs would exceed anything I would make  :rotfl: :rotfl: anyway - she would be sent back under distance selling regs - not fit for purpose :D If only these were in effect when I married her

With regards to the damage - there are about 5 chips out of it with two having scratches coming away from the chip - I know they can repair windscreens but what about plasma screens???

There's a good chance you can simply have the front filter replaced - as per a previous post call LG Service and talk if over with them.

Your still looking at a couple of hundred quid for the part mind!!!

    Best regards

    Joe
