    Hi guys

I have recently bought a Pioneer 32" Viera LCD and I can't seemt o get the picture to look right.

Can anyone advise me on what levels Contrast, Brightness, Backlight, Colour etc should be set to?

Also should I be using a more specialist scart lead - I am using a very basic one, would this sacrifice picture quality??

The picture is also worse when I watch TV via my DVD recorder.

Any advice would be appreciated as I've spent over £2,000 on a TV and it doesn't look as good as my £250 CRT

    Cheers

I had the same problem with a new Sharp LC30HV4E connected via SCART to my Sky Digibox and DVD player.

Turned out I was using the VCR SCART from Sky+, which isn't RGB. Switching to the other SCART made a huge difference.

Likewise with switching from SCART to progressive scan component from the DVD.

I've seen comments from others in these forums that some plasma/LCD SCART inputs are not too hot. Go for component if you can and you should see good quality.

Unless the plasma/LCD screen is naff... ;)

I purchased a couple of Thor Scart leads and changed the output of Sky and DVD to RGB. Picture quality so much better. Sky PQ does vary, so usually stickto the Freeview channels instead of the same on Sky.

Didnt change the settings much, just left it on Normal.

    Hope this helps.
