I am trying to connect up my X-Box to a Denon 2802 amp. Is there anyone out there who has this, or a very similar, combo?

I have an optical cable running from the X-Box to the amp and have changed the settings in setup to point TV/DBS to Optical.

I cannot get Digital sound coming out though. Is there something I am missing? Should I be using something else other than TV/DBS?

Please help, I am in distress and Colin McCrae is calling.

Have you set the xbox to DTS or 5.1 in the xbox setup menu

Yep. I've even tried the optical cable with the DVD and it works fine.

Does the amp have a ' ext in ' option, as my 3802. I have my
    X-BOX through the 3802, and it's wicked............. :D

Not sure. I'll have a look. Can you let me know how you have it all setup?

Which connections are you using and what have you configured?

    Cheers.

    Jag,

I have this setup the same way as you on my Denon 3802.

Set it to TV/VDP and make sure its in auto mode and
it should pick up as DD ( it does on mine ) If it does not
work what does it display as ?

The only other thing I can think of is to check your optical
lead 100% as my xbox one was a bit dodgy and replaced it.

    Cheers

I was playing around with it last night and I finally got it to work. I think in the end it might have been the mode. I was sure that was set to Auto but it wasn't

Anyway, I now have DD5.1 and it sounds great on Sega GT 2002 :D
