The Tv is a Teac with the following connections

    • 2 x Euro AV SCART input
    • Antenna 75 Ohm
    • Headphones
    • Y, Cb, Cr - component input on SCART1
    • Mini DIN (SVHS)
    • 3xRCA (video and audio)

The laptop is a toshiba tecra M2 with a S-video out.

So far I am trying to connect an using a S-video - single RCA (video) cable. from the laptop to the tv - no luck getting a picture on any of the AV channels.

I do get audio by using a standard stereo mini (1/8th inch) - rca (red and white) audio inputs on the tv.

Does anyone know if the cable I'm using should work??

Am trying to establish if this should work in theory so I can then concentrate on confiuring the control panels in Windows XP on the laptop.

Is there a better way to do this - on a tight budget.
    cheers

    Hello dogbox

That 4pin Mini Din to single RCA cable sounds like a dogs breakfast - not sure what its meant to be doing but its definitely not what you require.

Grab a straightforward 4pin Mini Din to 4pin Mini Din 'S-Video' cable and then ensure you have toggled the S-video Output of the Laptop to ON - now you ought to get an image on the TV screen.

Keep in mind its not going to look very sharp and whilst it will be fine for viewing images and videos its not going to be ideal for surfing the web or productivity software.
