Hi,
Although I don't consider myself to be a complete no hoper when it comes to hardware, i'd like some advice please.

I'm replacing my Netgear DG834G router with a Sitecom wireless 300NXR Gigabit gaming router as the Netgear is 6-7 years old, over heats and drops now and again. My question is (as I've never replaced a router before) is there anything I should do to my system/network settings beforehand or is it just a case of plugging the Sitecom in and watching it spin?.

Any advise would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

As far as I can see the Sitecom does not have a built in ADSL modem so unless you're on a cable connection you'll have to buy a modem separately.

Apart from that setup should be ok, just have your ISP login details to hand.

You'll obviously have to configure the Sitecom wireless side with your current wireless security password and encryption type.
