help re dvd burner

    I know this has probably been discussed before, but
    any suggestion for decent external dvd burner (dual) for writing home movies
    which shops to check out

    I am sure I saw a device for about £50 which was able to house an internal writer and use it as an external one. With this you could pick up a decent internal one and get the external housing.

    One thing you might want to do is wait a while, as dual layed writers are on the way and these will be able to do 9Gb instead of the normal 4.7Gb. So if you dont need one now then waiting could be good, as you can get a dual layed drive or normal dvd writers will be alot cheaper.

    Just looked on www.microdirect.co.uk and found the Sony DRX510ULK DVD +/-R/RW for just under £200. Its USB2 and Firewire.
