i have basic HC set up. Sony 730 DVD player attached via IXOS RGB scart to Pioneer plasma 434 media box, plus sound via sony AV reciever. Will change to decent component cable & progresive scan improve DVD playback? or will I need to save for external processing eg iScan. Also need use for sky+

    Thanks for any advice.

    i would not call pioneer 434 basic:D :D :D

if your dvd player can output progressive scan then it should be better than rgb scart.

Prog scan should make a big difference, and your 730 can output it already.

I suggest buying a component cable and checking it out!
