Hi all,

I'm new to all this DVD malarky but this seems quite a helpful place. I've been looking on the web at all the available DVD Players and admit to being totally lost!

I'm after a player that has the following specs :

    built-in DD decoder
5.1 channel output
CDR/CDRW compatible
Multi-region
Optical digital output

Obviously excellent sound and picture quality!

The one I've had my eye on is the Sony DVPNS400D (£249 from http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/), unfortunately it's not multiregion (which is a must).

Can anyone tell me if it can be hacked or recommend a better player?

    Thanks for your time.

Try out these guys - Electrocentre, its modified to handle all regions. Delivery is £10, which still beats unbeatable.

    Sony DVPNS400D

Scroll down and you'll find it.

Although for a few pennies more you can get the most excellent Sony 735 at £349. A post before dissed it when compared to the 7700 but its £200 cheaper, and it has most of the features you want.

Tell me what the 400 is like anyway, if you get it. I'm also interested in one.
