Hi, i have a htpc which i run wide480 to a panny pta pj using powerstrip.
When i run some dvds i seem to get them in 4:3. If i select original aspect ration i get 4:3 if i select 16:9 I get it, but with black borders all the way round. If I uncheck "maintain aspect" I get full width, but squashed!!

I get the same with powerdvd, windvd and zoom player...
it seems to have got worse since playing dvix movies...

I'm guessing here, but if you're using powerstrip, is it set up to display Windows in the full panel of the pj?

If so, then maybe when anything is set to maintain aspect, it's made to fill the panel after the ratio adjustment is made.

I don't use ps, so I'm just poking in the dark, but thought maybe my reply might jog someone elses memory for you...

    Gary.
