My parents have Humax PVR, and the guy from John Lewis who setup the system for them has the DVD player connected via SCART to the Humax PVR.

BUT I cannot get the DVD signal to appear on the TV.

I have set the DVD playing, but cannot find any source selection in the HUMAX menu to get this to appear on the TV ?

Any ideas how I can get the Humax to select the SCART input ?

Many thanks, any help would be gratefully received.

Regards

Mark

Is there a spare scart input on the TV that the DVD player could use?

Graham.

Not enough information.

Which Humax PVR (Model number)? Latest Humax PVRS do not have scart inputs only a scart output. In this case you can't connect anything but a TV to the single scart socket.

What cabling is used to connect the Humax PVR to the TV ?

What make and model is the TV and DVD player (or more importantly what inputs does the TV have and what outputs does the DVD player have ?

Humax is HDR-FOX T2

Humax is connect to TV via HDMI and coaxial

There is no SCART socket on the TV
Many thanks

From quick inspection it does seem John Lewis employed fitters actually put the DVD output into the Humax output ???

So from looking at the TV the only inputs I have are all HDMI.

Therefore I need either

a) a RCA (L+R Audio + Video) to HDMI cable
b) a SCART to HDMI cable / converter.

Which option would people recommend?
And any products people can recommend for this option?

Many thanks

I looked at SCART to HDMI adapters, but as these were running about £50, decided to get a new Blu-Ray DVD player instead.

thanks all for the advice.

You will most likely find that your DVD's will look significantly better. The quality of the scalers has increased quite a bit on even low end BD players.
