Hi,

I've got a Triax Sattalite system and Technomate TM-5000D DVB decoder. I've had the system unplugged for a while and since I've plugged it back in I can't find any channels.

When searching it says No Signal! but in a satallite settings mode it says Signal 70% Quality 10%.

While checking through the settings (I belive the original settings may have been lost) the satallite position is recorded as:
Sat Position 05.0 degrees West
Longitude 00.0 degrees East
Latitude 00.0 degrees North.
When the option 'compute' it states "below horizon!" so I imagine this may need correcting.

I've not changed any of the settings and wondered if there was any way to fix this following instructions over the web.

Any help greatly appreciated.

The system seems to think you're looking for the Atlantic Bird 3 satellite at 5 degrees west and that you are located at the North Pole !
If you can change your lat/long to the correct one (and possibly choose another satellite like Hotbird or one of the Astras) you might get some sense out of it.

I fixed it. Thanks to rolfw at www.satellites.co.uk:

"If the satellite dish was set up for Spanish channels, it is either pointed at Hispasat 30 degrees West, or Astra 19.2 Degrees East, try selecting Hispasat first in the satellite menu and try a scan, see if it comes up with a full range of channels."

I did this and got over 1100 channels (mostly cheap porn call line  ) including some scrambled ones.

Triple x, Arait and a couple of others can be educationally interesting after midnight - allegedly :D
(but was better when El Gran Pulvo was on)
