Can somebody please help me ? I have a Sony 32" flat screen television that was working perfectly yesterday. I switched it on today and the picture has gone pink/magenta ? !!
I have recently moved house but the television was treated with kid gloves. It was moved yesterday and rested on the floor as I had not got the stand. It worked perfectly on the floor.
I then picked up the stand today, put the television on it and switched it on. Pink picture !!
It is not a new television but it is a 100Hz model and, to date, has worked perfectly. Having just moved house I am a bit skint so I was hoping it could be repaired.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Will be able to post a picture possibly tomorrow as I have to work.
But the general fault is an overall pink hue. For example the credits, at the end of films etc, are usually white but now they are pink !
I have tried looking for old threads and this problem but without success, so far. The only lead I may have found is something called degaussing ? Something to do with magnetism ?

Sorry to hear of your problem.

If the picture has a pink tint all over then it's not a degaussing fault.

I'm afraid you've lost one of the "guns" in the CRT.

It's not necessarily the tube itself, but could be the feed to it.

    If you're very lucky, it's a dry joint/poor connection.

However, aside from giving it a thump (yes, really) there's nothing you can do yourself.

This depends if the picture is pink from all sources. Sometimes a poor scart connection (broken or bent pin) can cause this problem. Often moving these things about can loosen the scart. However if it's entirely pink all over the problem I suspect is more deep rooted.

Tight Git, Yes I am afraid the picture is pink all over. Hopefully it is a dry joint/poor connection. As it was working perfectly only yesterday then I shall keep my fingers crossed.
per-Sony-fied, the picture is pink via the aerial and also I tried a DVD and alas this was pink as well.
