Hi - I need to purchase a 40" inch LCD for a spare room and was hoping the forum could come to my aid. I'm completely out of the loop screen wise as I have been very happy since purchasing a Pioneer KRP 500 in 2008 and have not kept up to date with the new technology TV wise. ..... so any input would be appreciated. I have been doing a bit of research, budget is £400 and have narrowed it down to 2 screens ...
SAMSUNG UE40H6400 - £379 - 1 year warranty - currys
SAMSUNG - UE40JU6400 - £399 - 1 year warranty - AO
- £419 - 6 year warranty - richersounds
Mainly it will be used for films and sport .... sky / freeview hd - no 4k or 3D needed even though present. Important factors are ..
Black levels / contrast
best reproduction of 24fps for blu ray
viewing angles
overall aesthetic look
I was set on the H6400 as it seems to have a good review on this site and a few others but started to consider the JU6400 even though 4k is not needed as its only £20/40 more and is a newer 2015 model .... also the build quality / frame of the h6400 looks a little cheap and plastic compared to the JU6400.
Thanks
