    Guys,

I have a Pioneer 454 DVD and Pioneer 811 Amp. The DVD is connected to the amp via a digital cable.

I have a second set of speakers in my dining room that are also connected to the amp. Naturally watching movies is great but when I put a music cd in, I have to arse about with the amp and select both sets of speakers and change the input to direct. (Otherwise the music is played in PLII only in my living room)

Could I use some phono cables connected from the DVD to the Amp and set the CD function of the amp to have both sets of speakers selected??? That way when I want to listen to music, I select CD and have it coming out of both sets of speakers.

Will having phono cables and a digital cable connected to the DVD damage it????

Will it affect sound repro when watching movies???

Stupid questions I'm sure, but it would make life easier and I'm a lazy git!!!!

    Thanks
