    HI,

Just bought and setup this recorder but have a problem that I can't solve, retailer no good either...HELP PLEASE...details:

I have the recorder connected to an Onkyo 797 Receiver via S-Video with Optical Sound. Watching a DVD is fine, however when viewing a TV Channel or Sky (connected through scart on AV2) I can't get Prologic or Surround Sound. The sound is disorted and is at low volume even when I turn the receiver up.

If I use direct mode or a simply stereo mode sound is fine. Appears to be some interferance or in-compatibilty with something??

Dolby Settings on recoder set to Bitstream and PCM Downgrade turned on and set to 2 Channel Stereo. Did try connecting audio via Analog but same problem.

Manual is not great, many items not explained!

Anyone know how to resolve this or have any wonderful ideas......
