HELP!! Optoma HD70 Fan Failure

Hi I just bought a Optoma HD70 from a local classified advertisement in my city. It didn't come with a bulb because it's burnt out and it's about 1-2 years old. But he said it works great.

So when I got home I tried testing it out just to see if it turns on even without a bulb. The On/Standby LED turned on green/yellow and remained on, however the Temp Indicator LED and Lamp Indicator LED was blinking red then the lights just turns off. Now, in the manual, this means a fan failure. But could it be because I don't have a bulb installed? Or is the machine damaged??

I don't want to buy a bulb just to confirm it's broken, I rather try and get a refund, but chances of that happening is pretty slim, so is there a way I can just simply fix this myself?

If the bulb isnt in the projector might throw up error codes i think its a case of you might have to bite the bullet and buy a bulb and see how it goes and just make sure the fan comes on the same time as the bulb so u dont blow the bulb again
Did you pay a lot for the projector?
