I'm currently loooking at buying a complete system. I went to Richer Sounds yesterday and they advised Eltax Synphony 6 for the front, Gale Monitors for the rear and a Eltax Symphony Centre. Additionally, they are recommending a Eltax A10 Atomic.

Is it best to have matching speakers or is mix and match acceptable ? They are unable to demo at the moment coz they are having a sale.

Any suggestions ? Many thanks in advance

I would get an audition booked in with them before buying them.

I know that Richer Sounds are busy during the weekends but they should be able to give you a demo during the week
(perhaps phone them to book in a demo). After all it is your cash you are handing over and you are going to have to listen to them a lot longer than the sales person.

In an ideal set up I have always been told that you should try to match speakers across the front/rear (Timbre matching)
