Hi. Thanks to those guys that helped me source speaker sockets for my new home cinema room/office which is nearing completion. Now I need help on deciding which speaker wire to go for and whether to run my sub usind high level in/out or the sub line in. My builder says I need a run of 89 metres of cable altogether. But which one? Since I only paid £300 for my Yamaha 5540RDS and Eltax Liberty speakers it seems stupid to pay vast sums on wiring. So I am working on a £100 budget or thereabout. Any recommendations? What do you think of this cable http://www.cybermarket.co.uk/ishop/923/shopscr2695.html ? Does this sound ok?

Also, what will give better sound from my Eltax Atomic 10.2 sub? High level in/out or sub line in?

Please help as I have only a few days before the electrician needs to start wiring everything up!

    Cheers,

    Jules

The low level phono to phono cable is the one to use for the subwoofer.

Can't help on the speaker cable though

Thanks Ian. Can any one give me an opinion on the speaker cable? It's OFC, high strand count, and reasonably priced. How important are OFC and high strand count in a speaker cable? What makes a decent cable?

hi, I've got the simular kind of kit to yours (see my signature) - and for the speaker cables, I've got gale XL315 bi-wired...not the best in the world, but I paid 2.50 metre from Richer sounds...could do worse!

Thanks guys. Really useful help. I think I might go for CPC's 'Extra Flex Two Core' cable. This has got 511 strands and is OFC. It's cheaper than the other stuff I was looking at, so thanks again.
