Help on buying Plasma

    Looking to buy plasma for bedroom. This will be used mainly for DVD, some VHS and TV and will probably use the VHS as the tuner.

    The DVD will be tosh 520 using component out so ability to handle prog san.

    Looking at 2 models:

    LG MZ-42PZ10
    Samsung PS-42P2S

    Which one will be best?

    If both are crap then how about Toahiba 42WP27B?

    Hi Peter,

    I think I would prefer the Toshiba as it is a re-badged Panasonic series 5. The Panasonics are regarded as having the best blacks at the moment, but some screens seem to suffer from a buzzing noise which puts a few people off.

    The LG you mentioned has been replaced by the PZ17 model which has a better contrast ratio and seems to have quite a few happy owners on here. It also has better input connections than the Samsung (e.g. component), but unfortunately is not suitable for a JSTech RGB to VGA convertor. Hope this helps.
