Can some one answer a question for me.

I'm thinkin gof gettin gan Alphason AD5/47-S, nowever my amp is 44cm deep and the info onthis stand says Support 38cm min , 45cm Max. Does that mean the top shelf is 45cm deep but all the rest are 38cm ? I don't wan tto put the amp on the top shelf. Ideally the 3rd sheld, or the bottom one would be fine.

Does any one have a Alphason AD5/47-S they could measure the shelf depth and see if a 44cm square amp will fit ?

I know it's a year late, but was browsing looking at these stands myself. Think it's the cable-tidy that stops you from mounting longer amps as it gets in the way a bit.

Friend has one of these. It's the silver and clear glass one.

TBH, having clear glass means you've got to do a good job of tidying cables behind the unit, but altogether it's fine as a unit.

Don't think it stood out as spectacular in my book, there are IMHO much better looking racks if you're willing to step up a little on the price or go second hand.

Ones that have previously caught my own eye are:

Quadraspire Q4, can be had at £200 or less and I had seriously considered going for one of these, but I'd already bought my Partington minim at a silly low price at the time.

Still, the Alphason is fine - just for me doesn't have the wow factor, but seems very stable and solid and will serve its purpose well.

    hope that helps.

    Dan.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have had a look at the Quadraspire Q4 and first off was wow, but, having had a better look at some pics its not really my cup of tea.

I guess the search will continue!

    Thanks for the info

    Ben

Thinking about things, without the Cable-Tidy installed it is highly likely a deeper amp will fit.

I'll be over a friend's house in Harpenden at some point i the next 2 days and will take a look myself and update the thread if I remember. Keep an eye out on the thread.

    Dan.
