    Can anyone help?

    I've got a 1997 BMW with a faulty BMW standard CD changer. I don't know what's wrong with it but would like to work out whether I should get it repaired/replaced by the dealer - or just replace it myself (and maybe the head unit)?

    I don't know much about the box other than it's a Type A Autochanger.

    My main questions are how much is it worth anyway; and would I be better off going to Halfords if it's going to cost a lot to repair/replace through the dealer?

    Thanks in advance.

    Took my car into Ray Smith Audio and they sorted the changer on the spot - apparently it had just crashed and needed reset. Felt like a right tube. :blush:

    Unfortunately though... while I was there I decided I need to upgrade anyway...!

    I was thinking of the:-
    Sony CDX-F5500 MP3 head unit;
    Sony CDX-T70MX MP3 changer;

    I'm not sure about speakers though...

    Could anyone give me any advice on:-

    Phoenix Gold PGS-R6-5COMP - £84.99 inc VAT
    http://www.raysmith.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=401

    ...or recommend anything similar?

    I'm limited to this sort of component setup as I don't want to have to butcher the car and I don't think I can fit a sub anywhere...

    Thanks guys.
