I do not know alot about computers and am looking for a basic pc package. It will be used for homework, e-mailand later internet surfing.

I want it to be the cheapest possible

Check out Dell. Theres a basic Dell Inspiron 530 available for £299 with monitor, keyboard/mouse etc.

Even cheaper if you already have a monitor as you can customise the packages and add or take away bits and pieces.


This is even better for the same price (although you would have to get hold of a cheap monitor to go with it)

Just noticed this on Hot Deals:


If you change the warranty to the Base Warranty (1 year) and take off the monitor (an extra £108.10 off the price! You can get a 17" cheaper than that somewhere else) you will get the base unit for £185.72. Thats a great price for the spec you get.
