Hey,

Well i just got a Samsung R128 and have been recording off the TV.

Ive been rercording onto DVD-RW's and this is where the problem occurs.

Now when evre i put the disks into my pc i get this error.

It doesnt let me copy the actual VRO. movie file to Hard drive.

This is my phillips drive.

Im just really annoyed that ive spent £140.00 for nothing, so if anyone knows what i problem is i would be so thankful.

And if i use DVD-R disks will it also save as a VRO. format or mpeg2?

Why is it a waste of money when it's the Philips DVd that has the problem?

I take it the DVD-RW plays the things you have recorded?

One reason why the Philips player won't play the recording is if the disc is not finalised.

Check your manual but you should find that with DVD-RW discs - as well as 'finalising' them to use in another player - you can un-finalise them to re-use in the Samsung.

Check the manual first and if this is possible - finalise - try in the Philips - and then un-finalise back in the Samsung.

Cheers, Dave C.

Thanks for your help.

So you think its my Phillips DVD that has the problem?

And yes the Samsung plays the recording fine.

Ill try un finalising it but i dont think its possible.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I thought that because you were using a RW disc - the chances were that you hadn't finalised it because you want to re-use it many times.

So I thought you were trying to play an un-finalised disc from the Samsung on a different player the Philips.

Often un-finalised disc will only work in the machine that recorded them.

My suggestion - was if it was un-finalised - was to finalise it and then try to play it on the Philips.

I suggested you check the manual as my Samsung R125 says (page 86) 'Unfinalising a disc VR mode' - meaning that if you have to finalise just to use in the Philips player - you can at least un-finalise the disc for further use.

Cheers, Dave C.
