Hi
Can anyone recommend which av receiver i would be best with please?
I have just bought a LG CX77 ( upgraded from LG OLED B series 55 inch )
Currently i have a old Onkyo TX N636 ( sound on around 30-33 )
Q Accoustics 3010 5.1 Plus 2 Dolby Atmos speakers.
What will give me better sound for movies ?
Occasionally use X box S. for the odd games
Thanks

see my suggestions here (post 19 onwards):

depending on budget I would recommend you go for a Denon x2700 (£600) or x3700 (£1000).

Denon's strength is home cinema and with features like VRR and ALLM you are covered for gaming also.

Got my amp from Peter Tyson with 6 year warranty and can highly recommend their service. They use DPD as well who I have always found to be one of the better couriers!

Budget is so important, AV amps can run from a few hundred pounds to several thousand. I suspect you'd rather spend the several hundred but how much is too much?

I need a new car @gibbsy . What would you recommend? ;)

Indeed.

I suggest a Golf GTI but my missus has made me buy a bloody Volvo. Never mind I got a new Dai Cap and driving gloves for Christmas so I now really look like an old fart driving an old fart's car.

@GillyB Do you also want the AV amp to be used music?

Ok,
budget is £1000
Wont be used for music. Just movies and very occasional gaming .
I thought there was an issue with HDMI
2.1 ?

Denon X3700H.

Don't worry about the 2.1 scare stories, they are a non issue.

Hence can be found cheaper. ;)
It also depends whether the difference between the two are important to @GillyB

Bearing in mind that the X3700H is within budget and much better specced than the old one, why bother.

In honesty i always have had Onkyo .
As they havent made anything new for a while now and doesnt look like it for the foreseeable future . Are the Denons as good sounding and basically go pretty loud.?
Getting on a bit so think i may be slightly deaf 😀
Spending £3400 on a decent TV means i want an amp that will give me a good movie experience . Thanks
