    hey guys,

i accidently cleared the service menu settings of my philips 28pw6006 set.

now i got 2 choices.. try to restore the values myself or send my set to philips for repair..

    i prevere the first (;

i hope people here have the same set and are willing to help me out. i must warn you it's not without risk but if you follow my guide nothing can go wrong..

    before we start:
    use the up, down, left and right keys on your remote to navigate through the service menu. left and right are for accessing sub menus BUT ALSO FOR CHANGING VALUES! so don't just start pressing left and right for fun like i did (;

ok lets access the service menu. make sure your set is in 4:3 mode. a warning before you access it.. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT PRESS LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN YOU JUST ACCESS THE MENU. this is where i went wrong and cleared all the settings.

press 062596 and then the [i+] button on your remote.

you will see a menu like this:

    Clear Clear?
    Options >
    AKB #
    Tuner >
    White Tone >
    Geometry >
    Audio >

use the up, down buttons for navigating and the left, right buttons ONLY where a > stands. if there is no > the left and right buttons will change something.

ok now we're in business. what i need you to do is scroll through all the menus and submenus and fill all the values you see into this template i made:

    Options:
    Op 1 #
    Op 2 #
    Op 3 #
    Op 4 #
    Op 5 #
    Op 6 #
    Op 7 #

    White Tone > Warm:
    D Warm Red #
    D Warm Green #
    D Warm Blue #

    Geometry > Horizontal:
    HP #
    HB #
    HSH #
    EWW #
    EWP #
    UCP #
    LCP #
    EWT #

    Geometry > Vertical:

    V60 #

    Audio:
    At #
    AF-M #
    A2T #

if someone is willing to do this for me: i really appriciate your help... i cant thank you enough!

I've got this tv, if you still need help with this then I could do it for you!

While I'm here, do you know anything about the dark RGB problem on this set cos mine is dark as hell!
Also I want to change the rgb shift back to the correct position using the service menu, which setting do I change?

    Ok then here goes:-

    Options:
    Op 1- 220
    Op 2- 247
    Op 3- 135
    Op 4- 184
    Op 5- 240
    Op 6- 54
    Op 7- 3

    AKB - 0

    Tuner:
    IFPLL- 26
    YD- 14
    AFW- 125 KHz
    AGC- 27
    CL- 5
    AFA- OFF
    AFB- OFF

    White Tone> Normal:
    Normal Red- 34
    Normal Green- 32
    Normal Blue- 32

    White Tone>Cool:
    Cool Red- -3(minus)
    Cool Green- 0
    Cool Blue- 5

    White Tone>Warm:
    Warm Red- 2
    Warm Green- 0
    Warm Blue- -6(minus)

    Geometry> horizontal:
    HP-38
    HB-38
HSH-29 (Recomend you put it on to 48 if you want to get rid of RGB shift)
    EWW- 40
    EWP-21
    UCP-23
    LCP-25
    EWT-28

    Geometry> Vertical:
    VSL- 36
    VAM- 28
    VSC- 20
    VSH- 33
    VX- 25
    SBL- OFF
    H60- 9
    V60- -2(minus)

    Audio:
    AT-8
    AF-M- 301
    A2T- 250
    Qss- ON
    FMI- OFF

Hope that helps, one thing I did notice was that when I changed the horizontal shift to get rid of the RGB shift it kept going up by an extra 7 notches( i.e. you select 48 and it goes over to 55 so put it on 41 and it should then be right).

Also would you mind letting me know what you've got your picture settings set to (i.e. brightness , colour, contrast) to see if the dark picture with RGB is just my picture settings.
    Thanks!

Yeah when I use RGB the picture is far too dark and al shadows just become a block of black. I've got an engineer coming to have a look.
