looking to upgrade the standard harddrive, the 2 i have in mind are
120gb-7200pm-ata-100-8mb cache. or
120gb-7200pm-udma-100-2mb cache.
i know there is 6mb difference between the 2, will this make any difference.
i have no idea what-ata and udma are and if it makes any difference
help needed to decide. thanks :)

Im fairly sure that the xbox will take the ata100 drive fine although, i can't honest remember 100%. To be honest though I don't think it makes that much of a diference just as long as its not SATA or SCSI - you physically couldnt plug these in!

You could maybe check at www.xbox-scene.com to confirm the ATA100 thing but im betting if you put a 133 in it won't make any diference.

why don't you just go to xbox scene and get a quick accurate answer there?

These are not the most "active" boards in the world and clearly not fast enough for your query on this.

FYI: the cache size will make no diference, that I can garuntee you (apart from the 8meg being slightly faster)
