Help needed modifying a Cambridge Azur 640A V2

I love my Cambridge Azur 640A V2 amp & B&W CM1 speakers. The only problem is that I often listen to the system at fairly low volumes late at night. A small tweak of the volume control can result in a proportionally large change in sound levels.

Unfortunately the remote is not capable of causing very small tweaks - the knob moves around too far, and I have to adjust the knob by hand.

Anyone know of a way of reducing the speed of rotation of the volume knob, or causing a small increment via the remote?

Before you get the tools out I'd suggest looking at a pair of Rothwell Attenuators as these will do what you are after externally.

Just like to say that the Rothwell Audio attenuators do exactly what I need, though I could perhaps do with just a little more attenuation.
