Can I copy from the hard disc to a DVD on this machine?

I am archiving some old video tapes and I want to edit them before finally comitting to DVD-R.

My plan was to record to HD, edit there and then copy to DVD-R

Yes. All the major HDD/DVDR combis will allow this - note that the editing on some machines is better than others - but the Sony does a decent enough job.

The problem is that I cannot find how to copy from HD to DVD.

    Where is the command located?

If you look at p72 of the user manual it gives you a full description of the various ways you can dub.

You are a star. I never thought of the word "dub" as meaning "copy".

Thanks a lot. This solves my problem.
