Help needed connecting Laptop to LCD TV

Hi,

It's a VGA connection from the laptop to the LCD TV managed to get picture etc by changing the resolution. However when i come to play any videos the picture doesn't show and a black screen where the video should be playing.

Ive tried to think what it could be maybe codecs?

Any help would be appreciated i wanna watch Prison Break on the big TV .

I've had similar problems with my RockT72 to a Philips 9830.

I had to update my graphic drivers (vista) to forceware drivers.

Then make the output resolution the lowest possible.

What codec pack you using? I'm using VLC full

I think this is an overlay problem. Does the video appear if you switch to output only on the TV (usually done by pressing the Fn key with F5 or similar - look for a TV icon on the function keys)?

Spot on mate, cheers was Fn & F5 to make it show on the TV all works now yay
