wanting to decide between a Yamaha SW-320 or a REL Q50
any thoughts people?
No contest - REL wins every time.
Don't be put off by the REL Q50 having only a 50 watt amplifier as I am still using the original Q Bass which only had a 40 watt amp but 40 REL watts seem to be the equivalent of many more from other manufacturers.
thanks for the post Ian, anyone else?
Go for the Rel.
I went from a Yamaha 160 to a Rel Q200 - no contest, the Rel is way ahead.
bit different but i went from a £180 yamaha sw80 to a M&K vx100...what a difference!!! it is simply worth spending as much as you can on the sub and get cheaper speakers or if your savin just for a sub save a bit longer. my advice would be to listen to a few £700+ subs, you'll understand what i mean!
REL is the bizz
i have a rel storm and it is crisp and sharp ,its 3 years old now and still works a treat also in the past ive have yam subs like the yst60 and 120 but the rel is great
I think you now have your answer.
And as a rel owner i am not biased...........Honest
Or buy a self build an Iplacoustics SW2 for £285 all in or supply and fit off cuts of MDF yourself and have a sub built and finished in your style £300/400 cheaper..your money but hey...am I the only one.Or spend a grand or more (or the Paradigm at Richers £500 ) a big box but lots and lots of low end ooomphhhh I''ve read and tend to agree with .Its your pennies.
