My Samsung 709 has just stopped working. Well it did after I unplugged it from the mains. It was working fine up until then.

I'm assuming the switch mode PSU has given up. So my question is has anyone had this problem and if so is there a repair method? Is there a repair kit for the PSU?

I know I could buy an El Cheapo from Argos for £29.99 but I liked my 709 as a spare.

The simple question is did you like the player or the fact it's macro disabled.
I've seen them being sold off for about £50 i'd check classifieds, the PSU probably costs more than that!!

    :D

I liked the fact that it's macro disabled and output NTSC.

I also like the fact that it's a stubborn arse with DVDRs

I need to strip the thing down because there's a disc in the drawer too. I hoped that maybe someone had had a similar problem and if it's just a couple of capacitors worth about £10 on the PSU I'd change them myself then give it to my parents for their bedroom.
