Guys hope someone can please help explain a REALLY annoying problem I have when I try to watch any AVI\DIVX\XVID movies on my Pioneer DV-600AV DVD player.

Whenever water appears in any film the audio and video slows down to a total crawl and the film is no longer watchable.

My player is connected via an HDMI lead in to the back on my Samsung LCD and the DVD player is set to 720p if that makes any difference.

Is it something to do with the compression used in DIVX\XVID\AVI files?

I only use my DVD player to playback these types of files via the USB input and so can't comment on whether it does the same on DVD's etc.

Has anyone else experienced this or can maybe offer some advice on how to solve the problem?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi,

Yes this is a common problem with all the players that use the same Mediatek chipset.
Its a quirk with the USB host.
Burn the same files to CD or DVD and the problem is gone.
