    I purchased the Wharfedale DVD Player over two years ago and thing it is excellent, I am still a bit of a beginner in the dvd world and have purchased a SONY Home Theater System HT-K170 and want to acheive full Digital sound or 5:1 can you a) tell me is this possible and b) what I need to buy it ?

    Please help me

    Which Wharfdale is it? And does it have onboard decoders for DD and DTS? If it has either it will have 6 phono sockets on the rear labled Centre, front L, Front R, Surround L, Surround R, Sub. Or something like that. If you have these then all you need are 6 phono cables to link them to the coresponding inputs on the HTK.

    If not then you need an amp with a built in decoder, which you would link to the player with either a co-axe or optical cable.
