I have had the capability to output video to my TV from PCs Voodoo 3 3000 for ages but only tried it yesterday and I have to say I was mighty impressed with the video quality.

However I have a few problems,

How do I get 5.1 sound from my PC what is a good quality ( yet cheap ) soundcard, I currently have an SB Live card.

I remember reading about a cheap "daughter" card for adding to a SBLive, was called Hoontech, on avsforum people talked about them costing $10-$15, no idea where to get one in the uk though.

Will connect to your SBLive using an internal cable and use up another slot.

there are a few cmedia based cards around that offer spdif out, i had one called a busby 4.1
im not sure if it could only output 4.1 or whether it could output the full 5.1 signal
however the card cost me £12 and ive seen other varients with the same chipset selling for £9

You've already got what you need :)
Use the SP/DIF socket on your soundcard (the yellow socket I beleive) to run into the digital coax on a DD amp.

Thats it, done and dusted. As long as your software player supports DD/DTS this will pass the sound stream straight through to the amp for decoding.
