I've been looking at getting something fairly cheap (and decent) to play HD DivX/XviD on my new telly (JVC LT-40DS7BJ) via HDMI.

    Something like this:

    http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/226306/art/peekton/pk6006-dvd-divx-hdmi-read.html#fichetechnique

The Peekton PK6006 which has had favourable reviews after a quick Google search. Its only £49 too!

Then the other side of me is thinking why bother burning DVD-R's all the time when I could get a HDD DivX player?

Descisions decisions! Could someone help me out and help me make up my mind?

    Many thanks.

The player does not play HD Divx. The spec indicates standard resolution divx and xvid. It does input the signal thru HDMI to the tv though. It doesnt indicate as far as I can see if it even upscales to 720p or 1080i. I would be wary if I were you.
