    Had planned to buy the Panasonic TH50PX70B but then saw the Sony Bravia
    52" LCD 3000 and am in two minds now. The latter is nearly twice as expensive! Pros and Cons of these sets please?

    Get the Panny unless;

    You're only using games and HD movies
    and/or
    You have a very bright lounge

    With a 52 LCD you have to be sat a long way back not to be annoyed by the artifacting on Standard definition SKY/Freeview signals from what I saw when looking to buy.

    LCD up to 37 looked fine IMO with SD signals at normal viewing distances (which I class as 9feet or so) - above 37 at that distance, it would annoy me.

    Dont believe it. I have the TH42PX70B and use it mainly for my Xbox 360, DVD's with the occasional bit of SD TV from the inbuilt digital tuner and it is fantastic. No problems, I highly recommend it.

    IMHO go for the pana every time very good on all feeds,as for bright rooms this is not a problem as some people forget we were all brought up with crt.But if you decide to bye sony you wont have the brightness problem as you will have many clouds in your room to dull things down.

    Thanks folks. Yes I think I'll go for the Panny.
    Any view on how this compares with the Pioneer-508XD?
